One of my passions is Amateur (Ham) Radio. After a lot of studying and taking 3 exams, I hold an Amateur Extra Class license from the FCC. I have a "shack" at home that I talk to people from. I also have portable equipment that I can take places.
I love nature photography. While I actually used to be a professional photographer, I just do it for a hobby now. When we go to national parks and other nature areas, I like to take animal and landscape photos. Of course, I also take photos of people.
I also enjoy paddling. I used to paddle a canoe, I prefer kayaks now. Depending on what I want to do, I have both cockpit and sit on top boats. Favorite places include the shores of lakes, coves and streams & slow rivers.
I like to camp, although I'm not as fond of sleeping on the ground as I used to be. I'm very fortunate to be close to Mammoth Cave National Park. The north side of the park offers many trails to backpack and backcountry camp on.
So, that's about it for me. I don't know how fast this blog can grow, or how large it will become. But thanks for following me or just checking in.
